All that you need to know about sahara desert tours and trips

One of the absolute highlights of a trip to Morocco is visiting the vast Sahara sand dunes and camping under the stars

Merzouga dunes or Chegaga dunes?

Which destination should I choose for my trip to the Sahara desert?

Merzouga is a small town on the edge of Erg Chebbi, one of the highest dunes of the aria, and its reach up to 150m. Merzouga dunes are the expanse of dunes on the north of town. It gives locals the idea of creating camps in the middle of the dunes, dedicated to travelers who wish to spend an individual night or more under a starry sky.
On your arrival at Merzouga desert, you will have room to get dressed at the hotel before you depart for the camel ride. You will have a tasty cup of Thé on the terrasse of the pool with a stunning view over the dunes.

MERZOUGA GOLDEN SAND DUNES

Explore the largest sand dunes of the Sahara Desert. Erg Chigaga is the largest and still untouched of the major ergs in Morocco, a much younger tourist destination. The journey to Chigaga dunes requires 4WD as the asphalted road ends, once you pass the gateway town of M’hamid. The trip southward to Erg Chegaga is fascinating, but the desert is somehow more vast and wild here. Erg Chigag offers the chance for some true wild camping and saves you a couple of hours in the car. It is perfectly possible to manage a visit to Erg Chegaga in 3 days, but we recommend visiting the dunes and then spending time in one of the palm groves
