Morocco Desert Safari 7 Days Tour program
Upon arrival at Marrakech Menara airport transfer to the hotel in central Marrakech for the start of the trip. The guides help you settle in and introduce you to the local area. Upon an early arrival, head into Marrakech’s famous Djemaa el Fna Square for a first taste of Moroccan food at one of the main street stalls, while watching the many street performers and salesmen offering their wares.

Today’s tour of Marrakech includes the Menara gardens, and a trip to the iconic Koutoubia Mosque, home to the minaret which has become a symbol of the city. Visit the Saadian Tombs and the Bahia Palace which hosts intricate and beautiful Arabic craftsmanship. In the afternoon head to the lively souks and handicraft centres around the famous Djemaa El Fna square. Home to many different types of traders these bustling and aromatic streets are uniquely Moroccan.

After breakfast this morning, bid farewell to Marrakech for a few days taking 4WD vehicles to Ouarzazate. Travel along the scenic mountains of the high Atlas, passing through the Tich’n’Tichka pass at an altitude of 2260m. Along the way visit the Kasbah of Telouet, the former residence of the Glaoui family – one of the most influential in the entire region. After a break for lunch head to what is probably the most well-known kasbahs in Morocco – Ait Benhaddou. The kasbah is a UNESCO protected monument and has appeared in countless movies. Make a final stop at the Kasbah of Taourirt before reaching accommodations in Ouarzazate.

After breakfast in Ouarzazate, travel along the road of a thousand Kasbahs towards the Moroccan deserts. Along the way pass by the Kasbah of Amerhidel and visit the spectacular Dades Canyon before arriving in Tinghir, which is famous for the Todra Gorge whose rocks tower above visitors at around 250 meters. Time permitting, have the opportunity to arrange a hike in the Gorge (payable locally). Later this afternoon pass through Erfoud before finally arriving into Merzouga spending the night in a Berber desert camp, at the foot of some of North Africa’s most impressive sand dunes.

Rise early this morning to witness the amazing sunrise over the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. After returning to camp for breakfast, depart to Zagora via the important village of Rissani which is famous for being the birthplace of the current Alaouites Dynasty. Make a stop in the small berber village of Alnif for lunch. The final leg of our journey spend the evening in Zagora.

After breakfast today, join the road for the long drive back to Marrakech, passing through numerous villages and palm groves before making another crossing of the Atlas Mountains and the Tizi N’tichka col. Arrive back into Marrakech late this afternoon and choose how to spend the evening with some last minute shopping or a final taste of Moroccan life in the square.

Enjoy free time until you are transferred to the airport for your departure flight. Subject to flight departure time, additional options are available this morning, such as spectacular hot air balloon flight, or a fun quad biking trip.
